CHURCHES TOGETHER IN THE COMMUNITY
WE again had a very successful series of studies during the period of Lent, and enjoyed fellowship at the bread and cheese lunches raising money for Christian Aid. Sadly the Pentecost walk of witness had to be cancelled because of the pouring rain, but we held a very successful short service in Forge Fach, with members of several churches taking part, and New LIfe Church hosting the event.

CAPEL Y NANT
The Covenant Partnership between Wesley and the Welsh congregation at Capel y Nant has become a reality. This pioneering Ecumenical Partnership combines members from three congregations, who worship using two languages, but who know that there is much that we can do together in the community, making full use of the building in Heol y Nant.

The Covenant was signed during a Celebration Service on May 27th 2010 and renewed in a service on June 19th, which also marked the Methodist church's 126th anniversary. We are soon to work on a legal agreement regarding the premises at Capel y Nant, as well as discussing how the premises might be improved for worship and community use.

CROESO PROJECT
For a few years a small group of Christians in Clydach have been thinking and praying about our place in the community of which we are part. We would like to be more visible, offering opportunities for people to find out about the faith and about our activities. However, we also believe strongly that we can make a contribution by being available to serve in the community.

WE are committed to care of the environment; promoting justice and peace; care of the whole person, body, mind and spirit; and to providing ceremonies for those transitional moments in life
- thanksgivings (e.g. for a birth or a life); reaffirmations (e.g. of marriage vows);
new beginnings (e.g. retirement or new commitment);
reconciliation (e.g. to self following failure or disappointment; or between people).

We are supporters of the City of Sanctuary campaign, and recently hosted an awareness meeting with a member of the refugee community to learn about the problems and issues involved. We are now looking into ways we can be involved in supporting asylum seekers in the Swansea area, and, if possible, in Clydach.

We have church buildings that could be used for public activities, and we would love to hear from you if there is something you would like to see in the village and think we might be able to help. Phone 845942
