About us
Welcome to Clydach Methodist Church in the Swansea Valley in South Wales. Commonly known locally as ‘Wesley’ we are part of the Methodist tradition established by John Wesley in the 18th century. Having said that, the Clydach church wasn’t established until early 20th century, and we are now very much trying to be a church for the 21st century. Whilst we enjoy our traditions, we are also open to new ideas and new ways.
Clydach Methodists are part of the Swansea and Gower Circuit, which includes 11 places of worship from Clydach to Pitton (end of the Gower Peninsula). The Circuit is served by 5 full-time Ministers and one part-time. We are a small, very welcoming congregation, meeting in an informal setting in the premises in Heol y Nant, formerly known as 'Carmel', but now the home of 'Capel y Nant', a new Welsh congregation bringing together former members of Hebron, Carmel and Salem.
Services are normally at 3.00 p.m. on Sunday, with Holy Communion usually on the first Sunday of the month, and the Ministry of Healing once a quarter. We also hold smaller group meetings during the week, and share in many eevents with other churches in the Clydach area.
Our Minister welcomes any enquiries about the Christian faith, or about occasional services such as weddings and baptisms. {Phone 01792 845942)
